The Jackdaw's Playground
Year:
2023
Medium:
Digital (Procreate)
Poem about the clattering of Jackdaws that roosted around our old cottage in Cheshire. They would regularly feed at our garden feeders, swooping and playing in and above our garden. We had the privilege of observing their rituals and hierarchy, with the leucistic Jackdaw (whom we creatively named Lucy) at the helm. One of my favourite bird species, they inspired me in many ways - including in the writing and illustration of this poem.
