my story.
Hi, I'm Loz Sandom - an artist, designer, and creative communicator based in Todmorden, Calderdale. My work is rooted in folklore, nature, and whimsy, and I love using creativity to make ideas feel accessible, engaging, and full of heart.
I graduated with a First-Class Honours in Illustration in 2019, and since then my career has evolved to blend art, design, digital marketing, and inclusive communication. My art practice remains central to what I do: I create whimsical, folklore-inspired, and nature-themed paintings, prints, and handmade trinkets, and I regularly exhibit my work at markets and events across West Yorkshire and beyond.
Alongside my artwork, I support brands with thoughtful, accessible design and communications, from proofreading and copywriting to graphic design, branding, and illustration. I'm particularly passionate about working with small and local businesses, organisations led by or supporting marginalised communities, and charities.
I founded Loz Sandom Studios to bring all of these skills together under one roof. Today, my studio is where I explore and develop my personal art practice, create bespoke commissions, and collaborate on projects that champion creativity, authenticity, and inclusion.

outside work.
When I’m not working, you’ll often find me outdoors - wild swimming, birdwatching, and collecting interesting rocks. I’m also passionate about folk music and regularly enjoy local folk sessions with my partner.

I regularly make time for my own art practice, experimenting with new printmaking techniques, sharing my work at markets and exhibitions, and collaborating with other artists in local creative groups.

Above all, I love connecting with people from all walks of life and regularly volunteer with community groups, art events, and festivals to support inclusive creativity.
