My Wild Feminine Defies Your Binaries

2024

Medium:

Linocut

Linocut print in black ink on material featuring a snarling wolf and hand-carved text. I created this piece as a response to the 1992 book "Women Who Run With the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. While I found many of the author's general ideas to be interesting, I felt they were somewhat closed off to concepts surrounding gender expression, even for the time in which it was written. I wanted to show that it is possible to align with the 'wild feminine' concept, even in a masculine, non-binary, or gender-queer way.
